RESERVED NEW COLLECTION
RESERVED Denim Capsule Collection AW 19
Denim, just like the Atlantic, can shine in all shades of blue, which is why the new Reserved Denim Capsule Collection campaign was produced in Portugal. Breaking with the stereotypical American context Łukasz Pukowiec photographed the autumn collection on an empty beach and a wild green cliff. The afternoon light, hair lashing in the wind and the vast open space of the ocean create an atmosphere of romantic nostalgia, which perfectly corresponds to the concept of the garments.
This season, the RESERVED designers pay tribute to the extremes. On the one hand, the collection refers to the tradition of denim – durable working clothes with a raw cut, while on the other hand it introduces warm colours and soft lines, emphasising the feminine and masculine silhouettes.
How does it look in practice? Very stylish. Apart from classic, high-waist and wider leg jeans or a simple jacket, we can find a woman’s shirt with a delicate collar and puffed sleeves, or a little black dress with a deep neckline. Although solid double stitching prevails in the collection, sometimes the fabric is cut and left intentionally raw. The dominant denim is sometimes broken with corduroy or soft knits.
The colour scheme of the RESERVED collection is also based on contrast. The classic denim palette is combined with a whole range of browns. From clay red through mustard yellow to beige to off white. From dark anthracite-ish denim through indigo to light blue.
The women’s line of the Reserved Denim Capsule Collection highlights the feminine silhouette through airy dresses in fine patterns, sleeves finished with a frill, necklines or coats with emphasised waist, but also blue jeans with a high waist and narrow leg. Functional cowboy boots and original accessories, such as a fur collar with a bow or a studded bag, complement the wardrobe, which varies in styles, colours and textures.
Men’s clothes from this collection are more minimalistic and focus on comfort. Looser styles of jackets, shirts and trousers gain additional power when kept in one colour scheme - black, mustard brown or navy blue denim. Details such as bandanas, rolled up beanie hats or short turtlenecks set the tone in this style. There is, however, a pinch of extravagance, as exemplified by the blue jacket with overscaled tie-dye pattern.
The common denominator of the Reserved jersey line for this season is the colouring and selection of fabrics. Subtle romanticism with sophisticated details of the women’s collection is perfectly combined with classic denim-based motives of the men's collection – elegance is complemented by simplicity and functionalism.
